Malibu Road
Malibu Road is one of the higher-end niche neighborhoods in the 27 miles that makes up Malibu. Centrally located, Malibu Road has a bit of a rustic feel, with a two-lane highway called the Old Road that mostly parallels Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). There are about 250 home parcels in Malibu Road, according to city records.
Lots on the ocean side of Pacific Coast Highway are very sought-after, as they are often ocean-view, two-story properties that can be very luxurious. The proximity to small office space, as well as The Malibu Colony Plaza shopping district, makes Malibu Road very desirable. Rental homes on Malibu Road can range from $15,000 per month to upwards of $40,000.
Beyond high-end shopping and gourmet dining, there is Bluffs Park, which the City of Malibu took control of in 1995. Bluffs Park includes amenities like The Michael Landon Center, baseball facilities and more. Views from Bluffs Park are spectacular. Crest Tennis Park is nearby, as is Malibu's City Hall. Pepperdine University is a stone's throw away from Malibu Road, as are some of the best surfing spots, including breaks near Malibu Colony.
Geological issues are in play on Malibu Road, as is the case with nearly all of the neighborhoods in Malibu. It's important to do your due diligence before making an investment.
